Gehl has more than 150 years of experience in manufacturing, starting with farming equipment and eventually adding construction equipment. Gehl’s roots trace back to 1859, when Louis Lucas began providing residents in the West Bend, Wisconsin, area with farm implements and machines. In 1890, Lucas’ foundry was purchased by Charles Siberzahn, who renamed it Siberzahn Manufacturing Co., and in 1902, John Gehl purchased the company and renamed it Gehl Bros. Manufacturing, eventually becoming Gehl Co. In 2008, Gehl became Manitou Americas, which now offers Gehl-branded equipment. Through the years, the manufacturer was known for several popular innovations, introducing the Hexelbank Ensilage Cutter, auto-steering manure spreader, and forage harvester.

Although Gehl no longer manufactures large equipment for the farm and agricultural industry, you’ll still find a wide selection of used Gehl hay and forage equipment for sale such as rakes, disc mowers, mower conditioners, forage harvesters, forage blowers, and balers, along with used manure spreaders, grinder mixers, feed wagons, and corn headers. Today, Gehl manufactures compact equipment and attachments for construction and agricultural use, including skid loaders, track loaders, articulated loaders, compact excavators, and telescopic handlers, with various models for sale in the United States and around the world.
